Here’s what the dye garden looked like this morning. Sigh. No flowers (those yellow blossoms are an attractive weed on the outside of the fence), and barely even any sprouts that aren’t weeds. The asparagus is the fern-like stuff in the back; its season is long over. I have been watering this garden so I can’t blame the extremely dry summer we are having. I think the soil must need some more compost. In the true spirit of gardeners everywhere, I already have next year’s garden planned.
