Hello readers! 2014 has zoomed by, and here we are at a new year. I just looked back at my 2014 posts and see that I mostly met the goals I set on New Year’s Day last year. I finished my A Light in the Window blanket, knitted several small projects, and grew greens and tomatoes in the garden. I also completed the first part of a multi-year project to “remodel” our backyard, something I am particularly proud of. For the first time in many years, I made a sweater (which is hard to photograph because of its dark color, so I’ll keep you waiting for a better picture), and I am starting another one today! The most unexpected thing that happened at the Yarnstead was that some time over the late summer and fall, I got really excited about cooking again.
In the coming weeks and months, you’ll see posts on my visit to Tempe Yarn & Fiber in Arizona, things I find helpful in the kitchen, probably some cookbook and craft book recommendations, and talk about learning to use my new camera and how I try to reduce food waste in my home. For now, I am enjoying a cup of coffee, a loudly purring and very warm cat, and a snowless but sunny view.
